Defied started with a simple question: why does moving your own money still depend on banking hours, cut-off times and someone else's permission? Stablecoins answer the first part. Digital euros and dollars move in seconds, any day. Self-custody answers the second: a wallet that only you control.
Defied puts the two together in an app that feels like the money apps you already use. You sign in with your email, hold EURC and USDC, pay anyone in seconds, and connect your wallet to your bank with a personal IBAN, where available. We never hold your money, and we can't move it.
How it started
Defied began as a side project. In June 2026 Stan shared an early version on X, where it was seen over 300,000 times, reposted by Jesse Pollak, who leads Base, and quoted by Henri Stern, co-founder of Privy. That response turned the side project into Defied.
What Defied is, and isn't
Software, not a bank. Defied is a financial technology company that makes software. It is not a bank, an exchange or a custodian.
Only you control your money. Your wallet is created with Privy and lives on Base, a public network. We never hold your money, and we can't move it.
Stablecoins from Circle. EURC and USDC are issued by Circle, which holds the reserves behind them.
Bank transfers by Bridge. Personal IBANs and conversions between euros and stablecoins are provided by Bridge, a regulated payment provider, under its own terms.
No token, no deposit guarantee. Defied has no token. Stablecoins are not bank deposits and carry no deposit guarantee, so read the Risk Disclosure before you start.
